French ladies seem to have it all, right? Wrong. Their elusive, effortless glamour is really just a combination of a few healthy mantras we Americans just can’t seem to pick up. If you want to give off that confident, beautiful vibe with minimal effort, you must follow these je ne sais quoi rules:
Celebrate your imperfections.
Think Vanessa Paradis’ front tooth gap, Carla Bruni’s height, Juliette Binoche’s nose, Constance Jablonski’s jawline or Marion Cotillard’s dark under eye circles.. They are all absolutely gorgeous regardless!
Simply au Naturale.
It’s about being calculatingly understated, but always polished. They are naturally elegant. Think: Nude makeup, coifed hair. Nothing too dramatic or overly showy.
Indulge in life.
They eat the chocolate, have the glass of wine. They relax with a facial, make time for yoga or ballet class and always celebrate via a great dinner with friends. Heck. even walk around barefoot and play the guitar. It’s a carefree attitude that centers around just “being” and “enjoying.”
They are pretty basic with their color choices: Beige, Navy, and a few different variations of the color black… 😆
With age comes this wisdom and experience, and with said principles comes happiness towards who one has become (both on the inside and out). It’s about embracing who you are, not comparing to others younger than you.
